The Satiable Quest
is a very thought provoking book. It deals with, in a very direct
manner, how that Christians everywhere are searching the Scriptures to
find answers for their restlessness and discontentment with self and
with life. In the introduction, Pastor Gordon says: “It is
preparation time and each of us will need to hear either the soul that
nourishes and guides us as the source for sound reasoning, or sink in
eternal quicksand.”
Throughout its pages ring forth the fact that we have available to us
the wisdom and power of Almighty God, along with our own individual
voice or conscience, if you will, that will guide us along every step
of life’s journey, and that as long as we stay with God, and our
voice, we will move in the right direction safely. This direction,
Pastor Gordon calls a satiable quest. We are encouraged to look at our
inner selves, and to make appropriate changes whenever and wherever
necessary in order to have a more profound relationship with God, and
thus enjoy a life of peace.
She likens the sins we constantly delve in as excess baggage that
weighs us down, and we must get rid of that sinful baggage. That sinful
baggage includes but is not limited to: worldly lust, adultery, and
sodomy. "Dump the Trash (sin) Before it Dumps You," is one of the
chapter headings.
The soul is constantly searching for something and Gordon discussed
three main things the soul desperately searches after: (1) salvation;
(2) reaching your destiny through the Master Potter; (3) unity and
healing while there is still light. As chapter twelve tells us, Our
Souls Must Run on and See What the End Will Be!
If you are a serious minded Christian and you want greater spiritual
enlightenment, a closer walk with the Lord, daily peace that passeth
all understanding, and joy unspeakable, this book is a must read for
you.
